Basic B.Sc. Nursing is a course designed to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing within a duration of four years. This course is offered by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) guided by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). For entry to the course, the student is expected to score 50% marks in Science subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or an aggregate of 45% in the above mentioned) from a recognised university approved by RGUHS. During the tenure of four years the student learns varied subjects pertaining to Medical and Social Science and has to fulfil the allotted clinical hours prescribed by the university in various areas like Child Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing. At the end of the four years of learning and Internship, the university awards the degree after which the student can enrol themselves in the Karnataka Nursing Council. This course is designed by the INC to equip the students to become proficient in the art of Nursing and ensures professional ethics and etiquettes and helps in the overall development of their personality.
