Midwifery and obstetrical Nursing is a four years certified course approved by the Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka Nursing Council. Midwifery is a field that is related to female health issues during pregnancy, child birth and after childbirth period. Here the midwife goes through various information and training. The main aim of this course is to make the midwife to be familiar with the diverse process of normal progress of labour and have the knowledge to distinguish between different processes of labour. The course of midwife is demanding worldwide. Pregnancy is a wonderful phase in every women’s life. Expectant mothers eagerly look forward to the day when they give birth and hold a baby in their hands. But the current generation flaws a lot of complications with regard to pregnancy and fertility due to life style choices, stress, and various other factors. Hence a student studying midwifery will be able to take care of mothers with various health challenges. After B.Sc. Nursing the student can further study Masters in Midwifery which is a certified program. There are various other advanced courses in Midwifery where they can independently practice as a Midwifery Practitioner. After the B.Sc. Nursing programme the students will get certified as Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM), they can study any advanced courses in Midwifery and excel in this field.
